Windows XP users rejoice as dear old Microsoft has released Service Pack 3 RC2 for Windows XP. New features that users can expect from this package includes stronger networking protocols with black hole router detection and Network Access Protection, with Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) that was provided for in Windows Vista. But as this isn’t a final version, if your system has been stable and running fine, I would suggest you not to upgrade for a while and let the bugs and kinks be fully worked out. Take my word for it; it’ll definitely be worth the wait.

Princeton study: Disk encryption not safe

Researchers with Princeton University and the Electronic Frontier Foundation have found a flaw that renders disk encryption systems useless if an intruder has physical access to your computer — say in the case of a stolen laptop or when a computer is left unattended on a desktop in sleep mode or while displaying a password prompt screen. The attack takes only a few minutes to conduct and uses the disk encryption key that’s stored in the computer’s RAM. The attack works because content as well as encryption keys stored in RAM linger in the system, even after the machine is powered off, enabling an attacker to use the key to collect any content still in RAM after reapplying power to the machine.

Sony selling their Blu-Ray factory to Toshiba

A bit of surprising piece of news appeared today on the internet - the format war between HD DVD and Blu-Ray is officially over and one shop after another gets rid of everything with HD DVD logo on it. One would expect Sony and other companies promoting Blu-Ray format to strengthen their position, but exact opposite happened: Sony Corp said on Wednesday it will sell its microchip production facilities in western Japan to Toshiba Corp for 90 billion yen ($835 million), in their latest move to focus on their core businesses. The equipment will be used by their semiconductor joint venture that will make high-performance Cell chips and RSX graphic chips, both used in Sony’s PlayStation 3 game console, as well as other microchips that go into Toshiba products.

Demonoid Tracker Back Online, Site still Offline

It has been three months since the popular (semi)private BitTorrent tracker Demonoid went offline. Since then, there has been a lot of speculation about its future, and many feared that the site would never return. Totally out of the blue, however, the tracker is now responding again.

Microsoft gives away free software for students

Microsoft Corp. is giving students free access to its most sophisticated tools for writing software and making media-rich Web sites, a move that intensifies its competition with Adobe Systems Inc. and could challenge open source software’s popularity. The Redmond-based software maker said late Monday it will let students download Visual Studio Professional Edition, a software development environment; Expression Studio, which includes graphic design and Web site and hybrid Web-desktop programming tools; and XNA Game Studio 2.0, a video game development program. The company will also give away SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition and Windows Server Standard Edition.

Toshiba officially quits HD DVD business

Toshiba has said it will stop making its high definition DVDs, ending a battle with rival format Blu-ray over which would be the industry standard. Following a review of its business, Toshiba said it would stop production of HD DVD players and recorders. The HD DVD format has suffered as major US film studios backed the Blu-ray format, which is being developed by electronics firm Sony and partners. Analysts said the move would allow Toshiba to focus on other products. “We concluded that a swift decision would be best,” Toshiba president Atsutoshi Nishida said.

En exactamente un año (365 dias), el mundo de la television sera "terminado" para los televidentes que tengan equipos analogos en US. Afortunadamente, la Administracion Nacional de Telecomunicaciones e Información esta supervisando el programa de $1.5 billones para subsidiar los costos de las cajas convertidoras, estimadas que costaran entre $40 y $70. La agencia anuncio el viernes que comenzara a enviar por correo los cupones de $40 esta semana a clientes para ayudar a pagar las cajas convertidoras que les salvara de que sus equipos analogos se vuelvan obsoletos. El proceso de cambiar de analogo a señal digital esta tomando parte ahora en la mayor partes del continente Europeo tambien.

Bueno como ya tenemos listo la web con su respectivo theme y eso solo aviso para comenzar a poner series exclusivas como siempre en el metodo que mas se me da que es Megaupload pronto tendran sin necesidad de poner torrent sus series del momento... sin necesidad de tener que pasar horas simplemente click a descargar y listo...
